Where small feet discover the forest.
A morning of muddy boots, fire-warmed hands, and slow attention — for two- to four-and-a-half-year-olds, in the woods at Meieracker.
Three things
we tend to.
Safety
SicherheitExperienced hands beside small ones. Careful preparation. Clear edges, so courage can grow.
Confidence
SelbstvertrauenSmall mastery, repeated daily, becomes the quiet certainty of a child who knows themselves.
Joy
FreudeCheeks pink from running. The shriek of finding the first snail. Joy is the air we breathe here.
Three hours,
one rhythm.
Every morning follows the same gentle shape: arrival, the walk in, morning circle, fire, free play, a guided activity, farewell. Children thrive in repetition. The trees do, too.
We walk into the forest every morning. In rain, in sun, in snow.

A curriculum written by the woods.
Climbing, balance, fine motor work, fire safety, plant identification — the forest is the textbook, the educator is the bookmark. Children learn what the moment offers, in the order it arrives.
We don't rush. We notice. We name what we see together. Then we let it rest until tomorrow.
- Gross-motor: climbing, balance, leaping
- Fine-motor: whittling, tying, sorting
- Knowledge: 40+ plants and animals by name
- Stewardship: tending fire, leaving no trace
Safe doesn't mean without risk.
It means experienced hands beside small ones, careful preparation, and clear edges — so courage can grow inside them. We document risk assessments, train in first aid, watch the weather closely.
Our ratio is one educator to four children. Every educator is first-aid trained. Every walk has a plan. Every parent has our number.

the morning.
A small team. Long tenure. First-aid trained. Quiet voices in the woods.
